Push Girls: Pushing Beyond Limits

Push Girls: Pushing Beyond Limits

Push Girls is a new docu-series presented by Sundance Channel, premiering June 4th at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT.  The series follows four courageous and outgoing women who, by accident or illness, are paralyzed from the neck or waist down.

Tiphany is the bubbly blonde bombshell, Auti an energetic rock star, Angela the wise model and actress, and Mia is a tender but bold athlete.  So what is a “push girl”?  She’s someone who is confident, tenacious, and pushes through all adversity.  Fearless, sexy, inspiring, incredible, unfiltered, uncensored, funny, fierce -- all words that accurately describe all of these beautiful and amazing women.

Through the daily struggles of dealing with stares, being comfortable in their own skin, discovering their sexuality, dating, and living alone or maintaining a marriage, viewers of Push Girls are brought into a world they might not know a lot about but can relate to.  Don’t make assumptions because these women are in wheelchairs, but recognize they are strong and inspiring.  You can count on them to tell it like it is and holding nothing back.

“We all have a common goal, and that’s to open up people’s minds and inspire others,” says Mia.  “When we do it together it’s just that much more powerful.”  Passion, a sense of positivity, and enthusiasm about life are all things you’ll gain from watching these lovely women.

Angela is an actress and working model; Tiphany is a preschool teacher and fitness trainer; Mia works in graphic design; and Auti is an actor, dancer, and singer.  Angela also serves as ambassador for the Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation, who announced their partnership with Sundance Channel on May 23.  This collaboration seeks to provide accurate and factual information about individuals living with paralysis.  Peter T. Wilderotter, President and CEO of the Reeve Foundation, says “It is so refreshing and inspiring to be represented on a network that will depict us accurately with respect and optimism.”

Push Girls is incredibly refreshing and inspiring, for those in and out of wheelchairs.  It’s authentic and from the heart, and at the same time bold and outspoken.  Open your minds and hearts to Push Girls, premiering Monday, June 4 at 10:00 p.m. on Sundance Channel.
