The Big Bang Theory Season 6 on DVD

The Big Bang Theory made being a nerd cool! Well, if not cool, then at least adorable. This hilarious sitcom is about to premier its seventh season and the complete sixth season is now available on DVD.

In season six several things happened. First of all, Howard Walowitz (Simon Helberg) spent several weeks on the International Space Station leaving his bride Bernadette (Melissa Rauch) on earth. Then the relationship between Leonard and Penny (Johnny Galecki and Kaley Cuoco) blossomed again. And speaking of blossoming relationships, how about that platonic yet completely adorable couple of Sheldon and Amy Farrah Fowler (Jim Parsons and Mayim Bialik)? And even Raj (Kunal Nayyar) got into the dating world this season.

All 24 episodes from season six are included in this DVD package along with many wonderful bonus features. The Big Bang Theory: The Final Comedy Frontier is a great featurette created for this package. Helberg discusses how the zero gravity scenes were realistic and he described it “like acting under water.” The Space Station set was as close to the real thing as possible, Mike Massimino said. Massimino co-starred as one of Walowitz’s fellow astronauts, and is in fact a real astronaut. “I think Howard would make a pretty good astronaut,” Massimino confessed. Buzz Aldine, the second man to walk on the moon, co-starred on the show and in this featurette talks about being in space. 528 people have been in space, 24 people have reached the moon, and 12 people have walked on the moon. Aldrin is proud of his accomplishment.

Houston, We Have a Sit-Com is another featurette involving space. The cast of the show surprised astronaut Joe Acaba on the Space Station. Acaba who is a fan of the show and viewers get to see this historic Skype conversation. Talk about a long-distance chat!

In The Big Bang Theory at Paley Fest 2013, the cast and producers answer questions about the show and their characters. Viewers will learn how the concept of the show was formed and how the characters have evolved through the seasons. Helberg explains in detail how they filmed the zero gravity scenes, and Rauch talks about how she came up with the voice for her character. There are some pretty hysterical anecdotes from the set too.

Electromagnetism: The Best Relationship Moments in Season Six focuses on the couples in the show. When you think about how far the characters have come since they first caught our attention in the pilot, it’s amazing to see that they have actually formed substantial relationships. Who would have thought that Howard Walowitz would be the first to get married?

And whatever you do, you have to watch the gag reel filled with laugh out loud outtakes. As fun as this show is to watch, it looks like it is even more fun to make!

The Big Bang Theory is one of the funniest shows on TV. The characters are memorable and the actors are phenomenal. The show is up for an Emmy Award again, and Jim Parsons and Mayim Bialik have also been nominated for Emmys this year. If you like comedy, this is the show for you.
